Anfal Campaign
The Anfal Campaign began in 1988, and was headed by Saddam Hussein. Saddam's main goal was to eliminate all of the Kurds in Iraq. Here are some of the statistics from the genocide:
- nine criminal subversives executed, along with eighteen members of their families.
- nineteen people executed for being found in prohibited areas.
- forty-seven subversives sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.
- 2,532 individuals and 1,869 families totalling 9,030 persons, , were sent to Topzawa.
- Over 5000 people died during the poison gas attack on Halabja.
